Our Concept and Value

ubitto | \ yü-ˈbi-tto \

ubiquitous –  existing or being everywhere at the same time
tto – 또 in korean, meaning again, keep doing, persevering

We believe that learning happens everywhere, not necessarily confined within the four walls of a classroom. It is also through repetitive actions (또) and constant perseverance that learning is most effective.

Active learning

With years of experience in language learning and educational technology, we are confident to steer away from the passive and traditional learning approach.

Our Learning Principle
Tell me and I forget.
Teach me and I remember.
Involve me and I learn.

We learn best when we are immersed in learning experiences that are active, engaged, meaningful, and interactive. We make sure all LPE (Learn, Practice, Experience) activities are abiding by this method.

Experiential learning

Gone are the passive approaches of simply adding information into learner's head without putting them into practice. Experiential learning is personal and effective in nature, influencing both feelings and emotions as well as enhancing knowledge and skills. It goes beyond classroom learning and ensures that there is high level of retention, thereby delivering exceptional RoI over a traditional learning program.

Professor D.A. Kolb is the person most associated with experiential learning theory and said: “knowledge results from the combination of grasping experience and transforming it.”

LEVS GRW & 5S

uBitto’s 7 Pillars of Language formula – LEVS GRW (Levels Grow) is the backbone of course design on uBitto as there is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to language learning. With LEVS GRW, learners can identify which aspect of learning they excel in or needed improvement.

Learning programmes on uBitto are governed by LEVS GRW Concept, in which courses will strive to have a balance of each pillar, if not most, for a sustainable learning journey.

One problem about many language courses sold out there is a lack of balance. An entire course claiming to get you fluent in a month could be focusing on simply grammar or writing.

Learners can choose courses based on its LEVS GRW emphasis and identify the aspect of learning they needed improvement in.

One of the main reasons why learners fail to pick up a language is aimless learning. At uBitto, your language level is based on 5S proficiency rating standard (Seed, Sprout, Survival, Solid, Significant). This unique standard gives you a big picture on where you are and what you can achieve.

The 5S standard will be the gauge used by all services offered through uBitto – be it classes or practice sessions.

You can test your language level to see where you stand.
