What Is Korea Famous Among Foreigners 한국이 유명해진 이유

Korea has gained huge popularity in recent years, making many foreigners interested and took action in learning the Korean language. This has made Korea a very popular country that many wants to visit after the pandemic. Here are some reasons why Korea has become so famous among foreigners.

1. K-pop 케이팝

The global popularity of Korean pop music has grown significantly in recent years and has a large and dedicated (헌신적인) fan base, particularly in Asia and among young people globally.

Many K-pop artists have achieved significant success worldwide.

Famous K-pop groups include BTS (방탄소년단), BlackPink (블랙핑크) and Twice (트와이스).

2. Korean Cuisine 한식

Korean food is one of the things that foreigners love the most. Korean food has a unique flavor (독특한 맛) and style, with popular side dishes (반찬) like kimchi (김치) and marinated perilla leaves (깻잎) and main dishes like bibimbap (비빔밥), japchae (잡채) and tteokbokki (떡볶이).

There are also many regional specialties (지역 특산품) to discover in different parts of Korea.

3. Korean Language 한국어

The Korean language, also known as Hangul (한글) is spoken by over 75 million people worldwide and has a fascinating grammar (문법) and writing system (쓰기 체계).

It has gained popularity among foreigners in recent years due to the rise of Korean culture (문화) and entertainment, particularly K-pop and K-dramas.

4. Korean Dramas 한국 드라마

Korean dramas and movies are definitely another reason why Korea is so famous.

There have already been many hit dramas for over 20 years and has gained a large following around the world, known as “Hallyu” (한류). Starting from Winter Sonata (겨울연가), Descendants of The Sun (태양의 후에) and Penthouse (팬트 하우스).

5. Korean Variety Shows 한국 예능 프로그램

Variety Shows in Korea are also very popular among foreigners as they have hosts with great senses of humor (유머) and amazing ability in making the audience (시청자) laugh.

Famous variety shows include Running Man (런닝맨), Knowing Bros (아는형님) and Law of The Jungle (정글의 법칙).

6. Korean Technology 한국의 기술력

Korea is also very well-known for its cutting-edge technology and innovative companies (회사).

They are also the world's most technologically advanced and digitally connected countries.

The most widely known companies in Korea are Samsung Electronics (삼성전자), Hyundai Motors (현대자동차) and LG.

7. Korean Sports 한국 스포츠

Lastly, Korea also has a strong sporting culture, with popular sports including taekwondo (태권도), baseball (야구), and soccer (축구).

The country also hosted the 2018 Winter Olympics (동계 올림픽) in Pyeongchang (평창).

They also have many champions during many worldwide games especially the Olympics.
