About Your Instructor
Yoon Jung Hyun (Yoon Ssam) is the founder of uBitto and principal teacher of Penang Korean Class. As an experienced Korean language teacher of close to 10 years, he has extensive experience teaching Hangeul to learners of all age groups – ranging from 10-65 years. Best known for his unique teaching methods – incorporating active learning and participation as well as bringing learning out from the classroom.

This is not the first time I am learning Korean from an online source so I was going to skip the basic part as I know the basics. But still I thought of revising from the beginning and I got to learn a few new things. I was glad I didn’t skip the beginning. Very well explained and engaging content!!!
Languages class are usually very boring, BUT out of expectation, Mr Yoon make it very interesting and fun learning with games, jokes, fun activities and etc…every classes come with surprise. If only the timing wasn’t so early as my job requires frequent OT 🙁
For those who interested in learning Korean, highly recommend Mr Yoon, a native Korean and funny sir, you won’t get bored in the class.. Very lucky to have a teacher dedicated to his teaching. It is clear that he likes the things he does, he really wants his students can write and speak fluent in Korean. you paid but worth it.
I really enjoy the self-paced learning courses. My schedule is hectic so somedays I have more time than others to review lessons and practice. Yoon Ssam makes the lessons fun and relatable and being able to go back to review pronunciations is really helpful in the learning process. I hope to someday be able to take a live class as well!
A fun place to learn Korean . We are learning the language in an activity based lesson which doesn’t focus only on textbook, but incorporated with activities like quizzes, applying vocabs into lyrics of songs and pictures or posters, as well as discussions or thought sharing with other friends using only Korean language. 한국 수업을 진짜 재미있어요! 대박! 정말 고마워요 선생님! 옛날에 제가 아무 한국어도 못 했어요. 지금 제가 한국어를 들고 보고 쓰고 읽고 말했어요.
I’ve learnt Korean elsewhere but have always struggled with grammar and the way my ex-teacher explained..it just didn’t click. After joining Yoon Ssam’s trial class, I’m impressed with how it is easy to understand explanations. Yoon Ssam only delves into stuff that you need to know, to start having conversations. Practice with pronunciation helps me immensely.
Yoon ssam’s class is unlike a typical language class. Ssam creates opportunities for interaction amongst students, such as playing games and roleplaying. Class is focusing more on speaking and listening which is good if u don’t like writing . Appreciate the playback recordings too as work has been busy these days.
I definitely improved a lot since i first entered this class. The class was quite engaging and interactive. One thing I would suggest is to increase the frequency of the class perhaps 2-3 times a week. That would boost the learning process. Anyway, I absolutely have no regrets attending the class. I would like to recommend YoonSsam Korean class.. I’ve been learning for almost one year with YoonSsam. He is a very good, fun and interesting Korean teacher. He uses his heart to teach every students. I was unable to speak in a fluent or even couldn’t construct a good korean sentences. Now I’m able to listen songs and watch movies with less sub-title needed. Also could come out a proper korean sentences to speak it out. 한국 수업을 진짜 재미있어요! 대박! 정말 고마워요 선생님! 옛날에 제가 아무 한국어도 못 했어요. 지금 제가 한국어를 들고 보고 쓰고 읽고 말했어요.
My learning experience is superb. Every week we learn new things or practise what we have learnt in different and fun way. Yoon Ssam is also very passionate about tech and having us students practise and validate ourselves through ubitto website, something that I use very often now. Assignments are also very exciting because it’s a diff format every single time..would recommend!!
Almost 2.5 yrs has past and It was a fun to sign up this program, the best thing happened to me during the Pandemic period. Mr Yoon is a very professional teacher, very patient and always there to support you whenever needed. I like the pace of each weekly class. It gave me plenty of time to revise and master a topic. Ssam always try to make the lessons more fun, interesting and enjoyable for the students. Aside from learning the language, we also get to learn about the Korean culture. Highly recommend to those who are interested in learning Korean!
Well, though U could learn some useful pronunciation rules, it could be better for providing more examples. Also, not all the rules are introduced in the entire course of 6 videos. There are some other rules too. When ㄹ meets ㄴ & vice versa, it is ㄹ sound. For instance, 설날 is pronounced as 설랄, & 선로 is pronounced as 설로. When ㄹ meets ㅁ, 음력 pronounced as 음녁. For ㄺ ㄻ, the 2720 rule, pronounce ㄱㅁ etc.
I sign up for the complete virtual learning. Don’t think that you are on virtual class Yoon Ssam does not know you. He is aware of your progress and where your strength and weaknesses lies. I enjoyed the classes very much and it’s really making learning exciting and fun. Gonna go for Level 2 when I am done with Level 1
