What are the language requirements for being a Tutor?

Welcome to uBitto! We are glad to have you onboard to help people become fluent in your language.

Minimum Requirements for Applicants

Professional Teacher

  • 18+ years old
  • Teaching Qualification (e.g. Teaching Licence, PGCE, DELTA, CELTA, TEFL etc).
  • 1 – 3 minute Introduction Video
  • CV
  • Priority is given to applicants who have Education, Cultural, Linguistics, Language or specialized background (e.g. Asian Studies, Speech Therapy etc).
  • Native or fluent in your teaching language(s)
  • You are required to upload copies of all your relevant documents (for CV, References and Employment Statements upload them under Certificates)

Community Tutor

  • 18+ years old
  • 1 – 3 minute introduction video
  • Native or fluent in your teaching language(s)

Difference between Community and Professional Tutor

Community Tutor

  • Community Tutor are fluent or native speakers who want to make new friends and help foreigners practise their native language through daily conversations.
  • To be a community tutor, you must be a native speaker of the language or are fluent like a native.

Professional Tutor

  • Professional Tutor have training as educators and/or extensive professional teaching experience. They can provide learners with resources, prepared materials, and structured lesson plans to help students reach their goals. However, the gist of the service is still to help learners practise through conversations.
