Learner Guide: Dashboard, Quizzes & Community
Your complete guide to tracking progress, taking quizzes, booking sessions, and making the most of your Korean learning journey on uBitto.
Welcome to uBitto
Hi, and welcome — I'm really glad you're here. uBitto is your all-in-one home for learning Korean: live lessons with real educators, self-paced programs you follow on your own schedule, practice quizzes that adapt to you, and a warm community learning alongside you. I built uBitto because learning a language shouldn't feel lonely or confusing — everything you need should live in one place, and every small effort you make should visibly move you forward.
This first page is your map. Skim it once to see the whole picture, then dip into any section from the menu on the left whenever you need it. You don't have to learn every feature on day one — start with the basics and grow from there.
What you can do here
Here's everything uBitto gives you as a learner. Tap any card to jump straight to that guide.
Follow your enrolled programs and lessons at your own pace, and pick up exactly where you left off.
PracticeTake quizzes and get instant AI feedback on your Korean writing.
Book sessionsSchedule and join classes with your educator, online or in person.
Track progressEarn points across 7 skills and watch your level climb the 6S ladder.
CommunityJoin your groups and forums to learn together and ask questions.
Earn rewardsCollect cookies, keep a streak, and unlock achievements as you go.
Getting started in 4 steps
If you only do four things this week, do these — they set up everything else.
- Open your dashboard. The Learner Dashboard is your home base — progress, sessions, quizzes, and rewards all in one place. Get comfortable here first.
- Find your programs. The courses you've joined appear under My Programs. Tap Continue to jump to your next lesson.
- Book your first session. Use Schedule & Booking to reserve a class with your educator. If you're not sure who to learn with yet, start with a trial lesson.
- Practice daily. Take a quiz or post in a forum each day to build points, a streak, and cookies. Ten minutes a day beats three hours once a week.
Your Learner Dashboard
Think of your dashboard as the cockpit for your learning. In one glance you can see how far you've come, what's coming up, and what to do next. When you're not sure where to go, come back here.
Getting to your dashboard
Tap Dashboard in the bottom navigation bar, or open the main menu and choose Learner Dashboard. It's the same place either way.
Skill Radar chart
The radar chart is a visual snapshot of your ability across all 7 language skills (we call them LEVS GRW — more on that below). Each spoke is one skill; the further the line reaches, the stronger you are in it.
- See at a glance which skills are strong and which need love.
- Watch the shape grow as you take more quizzes and earn points.
- Aim for a round, balanced shape — a spiky chart means one skill is racing ahead while others lag.
The rest of your dashboard
Your latest attempts — scores and points earned. Retake any quiz right from here to push your score higher.
Your current cookies. Tap it to open the Cookie Shop and spend them on tools and rewards.
A full breakdown of your progress over time — quiz scores, skill growth, and activity history.
Leaderboard
The leaderboard shows how you rank among fellow learners — by points earned, quizzes completed, and streaks kept. It's there for a little friendly motivation, not pressure.
- Compare your progress with others in your community.
- Separate boards exist for different skills and time periods, so a strong week can still put you near the top.
- The way up is simple: stay consistent and keep earning points.
LEVS GRW Adventure
The LEVS GRW Adventure turns skill-building into a game. It's an interactive map where each of the 7 skills — Listening, Expression, Vocabulary, Speaking, Grammar, Reading, Writing — has its own path. Complete quizzes to move along the map, unlock new stages, and pick up bonus cookies and badges as you go.
My Programs
My Programs lists every course you're enrolled in, each with its own progress bar — so you never have to wonder "where was I?" This is where your actual learning lives.
What you'll see for each program
- The program name, your educator, and a completion percentage.
- A Continue link that jumps straight to your next unfinished lesson.
- A link into the program's community group, where lessons and discussion happen.
- A Write a review option once you've made some progress (your educator will love you for it — see Support Your Teacher).
How to use it
- Open My Programs from the dashboard menu.
- Tap Continue on any program to resume the next incomplete lesson.
- Use the group link to ask questions or share your progress with classmates.
My Learning Corrections
This is one of my favourite features, because it turns your mistakes into a study plan. Every error you make in quizzes and AI Writing Reviews is quietly collected and analysed here, so instead of forgetting a mistake the moment you make it, you can see your real weak spots in one place.
What it shows you
- All your past mistakes, grouped by type — grammar, spelling, vocabulary, particles.
- Patterns: the kinds of errors you make most often (this is gold).
- Your improvement over time, as the same mistakes stop repeating.
How to use it well
- Open Corrections from the dashboard menu.
- Look at your most frequent error type first — fixing that gives you the biggest jump.
- Take a targeted quiz or writing review in that exact area, then come back and check the error stops appearing.
Study Streak
Your streak counts how many days in a row you've been active on uBitto. It's the simplest, most honest measure of a learning habit — and honestly, the habit is what makes fluency happen.
How to keep it alive
- Do at least one activity a day — a quiz, a forum post, or a lesson. That's all it takes.
- The counter shows your current run of consecutive active days.
- Longer streaks earn bonus rewards, so the habit literally pays you back.
Achievements
Achievements celebrate the milestones along your journey. They're tracked on your dashboard and shown on your profile — little trophies that mark how far you've come.
Short-term challenges — complete 5 quizzes in a week, get 3 writing reviews, keep a 7-day streak, or score 90+ on a quiz.
Long-term goals — your first 100 points, finishing your first program, reaching Sprout level, or taking 50 quizzes.
Earned when you complete a program or reach a proficiency level. Download and share them as proof of your progress.
Points & Levels
Every quiz you take and every writing review you get earns you skill points. Points are how uBitto measures your growth — not with a vague grade, but across the specific abilities that make up real Korean.
The 7 Skills (LEVS GRW)
We break Korean into seven skills so you can see exactly where you're strong and where to focus. Together they spell LEVS GRW:
- Listening — from dictation and dialogue quizzes.
- Expression — from story cube and speaking quizzes.
- Vocabulary — from multiple choice and image-word quizzes.
- Speaking — from speaking-script and scene-dubbing quizzes.
- Grammar — from grammar-context and build-sentence quizzes.
- Reading — from comprehension-based quizzes.
- Writing — from AI writing reviews.
How points work
- Higher quiz scores earn more points.
- Beating your previous best score earns bonus points — so retaking a quiz is never wasted.
- Your educator can also award points manually for participation and effort.
- All your points feed into your overall level on the 6S ladder.
The 6S proficiency ladder
As you earn LEVSGRW points, you climb through 6 stages — we call them the "6S". Each is aligned to TOPIK (the official Korean proficiency test) and made up of several sub-levels, so there's always a next small step in reach:
- 🌱 Seed — Conversational · TOPIK I. Starting out: read Hangul, learn basic words and short sentences. (from 0 pts)
- 🌿 Sprout — Conversational · TOPIK I. Basic everyday conversation; role-play with phrases and write short sentences. (from 250 pts)
- 💪 Survival — Survival · TOPIK I–II. Handle day-to-day conversation, tell short stories, write logical sentences. (from 700 pts)
- 🎯 Solid — Academic · TOPIK II. Agree, compare and recommend; read ~100-word texts; write with more complex grammar. (from 1,900 pts)
- ⭐ Significant — Professional · TOPIK II. Debate with persuasion; read ~150-word texts; write complex sentences. (from 4,200 pts)
- 👑 Significant+ — Professional · TOPIK II (Level 6). Near-native, excellent-speaker proficiency — continuous mastery. (from 7,000 pts)
Understanding Cookies
Cookies are uBitto's little reward currency. You earn them by showing up and participating, and you spend them on tools that help you learn faster. They make good habits feel good — which is exactly the point.
Earning vs. spending
🍪 How you earn cookies
- Completing quizzes
- Daily login streaks
- Gifts from your educator
- Buying more from the Cookie Shop
💸 How you spend them
- AI Writing Review — 3 cookies per review
- Cookie Shop items — learning tools & rewards
- Premium quizzes — some cost cookies to unlock
The Cookie Shop
The Cookie Shop is where you turn earned cookies into real rewards, created by your educators and the uBitto team. Open it from your Learner Dashboard → Cookies tab.
What you can redeem
Vocabulary sheets, grammar guides, worksheets, and study notes made by educators.
Savings on program enrollments, booking sessions, or course upgrades.
Special badges shown on your profile to celebrate what you've achieved.
Unlock AI Writing Reviews, premium quizzes, and other learning tools.
How to redeem
- Go to your Learner Dashboard.
- Open the Cookies tab.
- Browse the available items in the Cookie Shop.
- Tap Redeem on the item you want.
- Your cookies are deducted and the reward is yours.
Schedule & Booking
If your program includes live sessions — one-on-one private lessons or group classes — you'll reserve your times through uBitto's built-in booking system. It handles availability, payment, reminders, and time zones for you, so all you have to do is show up ready to learn.
How to book a session
- Go to the program page of the educator you want to learn with.
- Check the Available Date & Time heatmap to see when they're free.
- Tap Book Now.
- Choose a service (the session type and duration).
- Pick your preferred date and time from the open slots.
- Fill in your details and complete payment.
- You'll get a booking confirmation by email.
Saving with package discounts
Many educators offer better prices when you book several sessions at once. When a package is available, you'll see a discount banner at the top of the booking widget:
- Starter — 4+ sessions, 4% off
- Boost — 8+ sessions, 9% off
- Pro — 12+ sessions, 14% off
- Master — 24+ sessions, 18% off
Try before you commit: trial lessons
Lots of educators offer a trial lesson at a reduced price so you can get a feel for their teaching style first. Look for a "Trial Lesson" or "Book Trial" option on the program page.
Managing your bookings
Once you've booked, you can:
- See your upcoming sessions on your Learner Dashboard.
- Get email reminders before each session so you never miss one.
- Message your educator through the community group if you need to reschedule.
Time zones — read this once
The availability heatmap and booking widget automatically convert everything to your local time zone. Your educator's own time zone is noted below the heatmap for reference, but every time you actually see is already in your time.
Joining Community Groups
When you enroll in a program, you're automatically added to that program's group — your dedicated space to learn with your educator and classmates. This is where lessons get posted, questions get answered, and you get to practice with people on the same path as you.
How to reach your groups
- Tap Community in the bottom navigation bar.
- You'll see every group you've joined.
- Tap a group to enter and start taking part.
What's inside a group
Lesson discussions, quizzes, and Q&A threads — the heart of the group.
A timeline of everything happening in the group.
See who else is learning alongside you.
Participating in Forums
Forums are where the real learning happens. Your educator posts lessons, vocabulary, and quizzes here; you reply, ask questions, and practice your Korean. Don't just read — the learners who post the most improve the fastest.
Reading lesson posts
Your educator creates a topic for each lesson. These usually include:
- New vocabulary and grammar explanations
- Practice sentences and worked examples
- Embedded quizzes for you to try on the spot
- Discussion prompts or homework
Replying to a topic
- Scroll to the bottom of the topic.
- Type your reply in the text box.
- Tap Submit.
Try to write in Korean as much as you can — this is your safe space to practise. Don't worry about mistakes; that's exactly what the AI Writing Review is for.
Taking Quizzes
Quizzes are how you turn a lesson into memory. They're embedded right inside forum posts, so you can take them without ever leaving the discussion — and your result is posted automatically for your educator to see.
How to take a quiz
- Find the quiz viewer embedded in a forum post or reply.
- Tap Start to begin.
- Answer all the questions.
- Your score and points earned appear at the end.
- Your result is posted automatically as a reply in the topic.
Quiz types you'll meet
uBitto uses many quiz styles on purpose — each one trains a different skill, and variety keeps practice from getting stale.
Pick the correct grammar to complete a sentence.
Choose the right answer from a set of options.
Drag words into the correct order.
Listen to audio and type what you hear.
Practise conversations through role-play.
Match vocabulary to an image.
Build a story from visual prompts.
Read aloud and record your pronunciation.
Dub a video scene in Korean.
Where your results go
After a quiz, your result appears in two places:
- The forum topic — as a reply, so your educator and classmates can see it.
- Your activity feed — on your personal timeline.
AI Writing Review
Want instant, judgment-free feedback on your Korean writing? The AI Writing Review reads your text and shows you exactly where you went wrong — with the correction right beside the mistake. It's like having a patient tutor available at any hour.
How to get your writing reviewed
- Write some Korean in a forum reply — homework, practice sentences, anything.
- You (or your educator) tap the AI Review button on that reply.
- The AI posts a correction reply, showing each error in a clear [wrong → right] format.
- You earn Writing skill points for it.
What it corrects
- Spelling errors
- Grammar mistakes (particles, verb endings)
- Spacing issues
- Unnatural expressions that a native speaker wouldn't use
Activity Feed
The activity feed is your social timeline — a live look at what's happening across your community, and a record of your own learning. It's a great way to stay connected and to feel the momentum building.
Getting to your feed
- Tap Activity in the bottom navigation bar.
- You'll see recent activity from all the communities you're part of.
What shows up in your feed
- Your quiz results and scores
- Points and cookies you've earned
- Forum posts from your groups
- New members joining your groups
- Activity from other learners in your classes
Notifications
Notifications make sure you never miss the moments that matter — a reply from your educator, a new lesson, or points landing in your account.
You'll be notified when:
- Your educator replies to your forum post
- Your educator posts a new lesson or quiz
- You receive skill points or cookies
- Someone mentions you in a discussion
- A new discussion is posted in your group
Tips for Success
After watching thousands of learners, here's what actually separates the ones who reach fluency from the ones who stall. None of it is complicated.
Practise every day
Even 10 minutes a day makes a huge difference. One quiz, one sentence, one lesson post. Consistency beats intensity every single time — a little daily practice will outpace occasional cramming.
Write in Korean
Use your forum replies to write in Korean, not English. Don't fear mistakes — the AI Writing Review is there to catch them, and every correction is a lesson you'll remember.
Take quizzes more than once
Retaking quizzes cements what you've learned, and you earn bonus points for beating your old score. There's no downside — only upside.
Engage with your community
Reply to other learners, answer a question when you can, and cheer each other on. Learning is more fun — and it sticks better — when you do it with people.
Ask questions
If something doesn't make sense, ask. Post in the forum and your educator or a fellow learner will help. I promise there's no such thing as a silly question here.
Track your progress
Check your dashboard regularly. Watching your skill radar grow is genuinely motivating — celebrate your milestones, they're proof you're getting somewhere.
Support Your Teacher
Your teacher pours real effort into every lesson — preparing materials, giving you feedback, and showing up with energy each session. One of the kindest and most useful ways to say thank you is to leave a short review on their programme page.
Why it matters more than you'd think
- It helps your teacher grow. Reviews help other learners discover them — and more students means your teacher can keep doing what they love.
- It helps future learners decide. Think back to when you were choosing a class — wouldn't an honest review from a real learner have helped?
- It takes under two minutes. A few genuine sentences is more than enough.
What to write
No need to be fancy — just share what's true for you:
- What do you enjoy about the lessons?
- Has your Korean improved, and how?
- What makes this teacher different?
- Would you recommend them to a friend?
Where to leave a review
Go to your teacher's programme page and scroll to the Reviews section at the bottom. If your teacher shares a direct link, it usually looks like this:
Bonus: send friends through your teacher's referral link
Every educator on uBitto has a unique referral link. When you or a friend signs up through it and books with your teacher, the teacher earns a higher share — 90% instead of 80% on every booking. The bonus comes out of uBitto's cut, not yours — same lesson price for the new learner, more of it going back to the person making your learning happen.
How to use your teacher's link
- Ask your teacher for their referral link — or look for a
?ref=tag in any quiz or program they share with you. - Share it with friends, family, or anyone who'd love to learn from your teacher.
- When they sign up through the link and book, the teacher gets the higher 90% rate automatically — for as long as that learner keeps studying.
HRDC & Your Course
A lot of learners in Malaysia ask whether their Korean course can be funded through HRDC (HRD Corp). Here's the short, honest answer — and how to make it work if your employer is involved.
Can I claim HRDC for my Korean course myself?
HRDC claims are made by employers, not individuals. The training levy is paid by registered companies, so as an individual learner you can't claim it directly.
My company is paying — can they claim it?
Yes. If your employer sponsors your Korean training, they can claim eligible corporate or group training from their HRDC levy, because uBitto is an HRD Corp-registered training provider.
- Ask your HR or training team to arrange the course as corporate training through uBitto.
- uBitto provides the required paperwork — course outline, trainer profile, and attendance — for the claim.
- Your company applies for the grant before training starts, then submits the claim afterward.
Educator Guide: Dashboard, Programs & Community
Welcome. I built uBitto so that teaching a language could actually pay you well and feel less lonely. This guide walks you through everything — setting up programs, running quizzes, taking bookings, getting paid, and building a community your learners never want to leave.
Getting Started
Let me start with the big picture, because it shapes everything else. On uBitto you're not just uploading a course and hoping people watch it. You're building a small learning world — where students take your classes, practise between sessions, ask questions, cheer each other on, and slowly turn into fluent speakers. Your community group is the heart of that world, and it's where most of the magic (and most of your reviews and referrals) comes from.
Finding your way around
Here are the four places you'll spend almost all your time. Get comfortable moving between them and the rest of the platform falls into place.
Your command centre — programs, earnings, learners, and today's tasks in one place.
ProgramsWhere you design, price, and publish what you teach.
CommunityThe private group paired with each program, where learning comes alive.
EarningsWhat you've made, what's pending, and when it lands in your account.
Reaching your community
- Open Community from the top navigation menu.
- You'll see every group you're a member of or manage.
- Click your program's group to step inside.
Your Educator Dashboard
Your dashboard is where you run your teaching business day to day. I designed it so that the things you do most often are one click away, and the things you rarely touch stay out of your way. Open it from Dashboard in the bottom navigation, or from the main menu under Educator Dashboard.
The areas you'll use most
Every program you've made, grouped by status — edit, publish, share, or build the course.
Total earnings, commission breakdown, quiz and booking revenue, and payout history.
Everyone enrolled across your programs, their progress, and their quiz scores.
Jump straight to creating a program, opening a group, or managing your Cookie Shop.
Reading your Programs tab
Every program you create shows up here with a status badge, so you always know where it stands:
- Published — live and visible to students.
- Draft — a work in progress that only you can see.
- Pending — submitted and waiting for a quick review before it goes live.
What each program button does
Each program card carries a row of action buttons. You won't need all of them every day, but it helps to know what's there:
- Edit Content — open the editor to change the title, description, pricing, schedule, and every other detail.
- Course Builder — add, edit, and rearrange lessons and topics. This is where you actually build the curriculum.
- Manage Schedule — open the booking panel to manage your time slots, appointments, and working hours (for 1-on-1 and bookable programs).
- Manage Subscription — view and manage subscription plans for group-class programs.
- Award Learners — open the award panel to give skill points to students enrolled in this program.
- Community — jump straight to the group linked to this program.
- View Program — see the public listing exactly as students see it.
- View Listing — go to the programs archive page.
- Share — copy the program link to share on social media or in messages.
- View Certificate — preview the certificate students receive on completion.
- Clone for Educator — (admin only) duplicate this program and assign it to another educator.
- Submit for Review / Publish — send a draft for review, or publish directly if you're approved.
- Unpublish — take a live program offline temporarily (existing enrolments aren't affected).
- Delete — permanently remove the program. Handle with care.
Finding programs fast
Once you have a few programs, use the filter bar at the top to narrow the list by status (Published, Draft, Pending), by type (1-on-1, Group Class, Self-Paced, Experience), or by searching the program name.
From your dashboard — To-dos
What lives here
The to-dos section is deliberately quiet — it surfaces only what genuinely needs you today: ungraded submissions, unread learner messages, and discussion replies waiting for an answer. No noise, just the next right thing.
How items get here
Each card maps to a real source — a submission in a group, a direct message, or a question in a thread — pulled together so nothing slips through the cracks.
Acting on a card
Click Open inbox or Reply now to jump straight to the feed and grade or reply inline. The moment you handle it, the to-do clears itself.
Creating & Editing Programs
Programs are the core of your teaching business here, so it's worth getting them right. The creation wizard walks you through eight steps — but don't let that number scare you. Most of it is describing what you already know how to teach. Let me take you through each step and, more importantly, why it matters.
Step 1: Choose your program type
This first choice shapes everything after it, so pick the format that matches how you actually want to teach:
Personalised sessions booked individually. You set your availability; students book time slots.
Fixed-schedule classes for several students. You set the days, times, and capacity.
Pre-recorded lessons and quizzes students complete on their own time. No live sessions.
Cultural events — cooking classes, K-pop workshops, tours. Fixed schedule or on demand.
Step 2: Basic info — your first impression
This is what a potential student sees before they know anything about you. Slow down here; it's the highest-leverage writing you'll do.
Program Title. The first thing people read, and often the only thing. Be specific about the outcome, name the skill, and keep it under 70 characters so it displays cleanly. Titles that promise a concrete result work best — for example, "Korean for Beginners: Read Hangul in 7 Days" or "TOPIK II Prep: From Level 3 to Level 5".
Short Description. Your elevator pitch in about 200 characters, shown in search results and listings. Lead with the transformation, use action words (Master, Build, Achieve), and speak to the goal your ideal student already has in mind.
Program Description. Your room to build trust. A simple structure that converts well: open with the transformation, say who it's for, list what they'll learn (bullets read easily), then explain what makes your teaching different.
Featured Image. Your visual handshake. Use a clear, well-lit photo at 1200 × 630 pixels — and include your face. Students enrol with people, not thumbnails, and a warm photo genuinely lifts your click rate.
Step 3: Program details
- Teaching Subject — the language you teach. If yours isn't listed, you can add a new category.
- Language of Instruction — the language you teach in, not the one you teach. Teaching Korean to English speakers? Choose English.
- Location — even for online programs this helps with time zones and cultural context. Type your city or drop a pin.
- Focus Areas — pick up to 5 so students instantly see if you fit: Beginners, Conversational, Business & Work, Exam Preparation, For Children, Traveling.
- Program Tags — up to 10 tags that help learners discover you in search.
- Community Group — create or link the group where students will interact. Click "Create Community Group" and one is set up for you automatically.
Program Level. uBitto uses the 6S proficiency system, aligned to TOPIK. Choose the level your program is genuinely pitched at — a mismatch here is the most common reason learners feel a class is "too hard" or "too easy":
- Seed — complete beginners (Conversational · TOPIK I)
- Sprout — knows the basics, building a foundation (Conversational · TOPIK I)
- Survival — can handle everyday situations (Survival · TOPIK I–II)
- Solid — comfortable in most situations (Academic · TOPIK II)
- Significant — near-fluent, handles complex topics (Professional · TOPIK II)
- Significant+ — near-native mastery (Professional · TOPIK II · Level 6)
Step 4: Media that sells
- Preview Video — a 1–3 minute intro is one of your strongest conversion tools. Film in landscape at eye level, face the light, introduce yourself, explain your approach, and end with a clear invitation to book.
- Photo Gallery — 3–6 photos of your teaching, materials, or past sessions. Programs with galleries simply enrol more students.
- Certificate Template — pick the certificate students receive on completion.
Step 5: Credentials
Trust is currency. Add what you have:
- HRDC Claimable — tick this if your program qualifies for HRDC funding, so Malaysian employers can claim the training cost. (More on this in HRDC.)
- Certified Interpreter — if you hold interpretation certification.
- Upload supporting documents so we can verify them.
Step 6: About you
Your educator profile, shown on the program page. It's pre-filled from your account, but tailor it per program — your teaching background, native-speaker status, and years of experience all help a hesitant learner say yes.
Step 7: Schedule & pricing
This step changes depending on the type you chose in Step 1:
1-on-1 programs
Set rates per duration (30 min, 1 hr, 1.5 hr, 2 hr) in MYR — students see automatic currency conversion. Turn on packages to reward bulk booking (Starter 4%, Boost 9%, Pro 14%, Master 18%).
Group classes
Set conducting days and times, class capacity, and subscription pricing (4-, 12-, or 24-week). You can also offer a discounted trial lesson to bring new students in.
For self-paced courses, set a one-time enrolment fee (or make it free) and choose how students move through it: Linear (step by step) or Free Form (any order).
Let AI do the heavy lifting
You don't have to write everything from a blank page. uBitto has AI woven through the creation process to give you a strong first draft in seconds.
Generate program content (Step 2). Click "Generate with AI" at the top of Step 2, describe your idea in a sentence or two, and it drafts a title, a short description, and a full description for you.
Generate lesson outlines (Course Builder). After creating the program, open the Course Builder and use the AI Lesson Generator:
- In your program, click Course Builder.
- Click Generate Lessons with AI.
- Give it your focus, the number of lessons, and the difficulty.
- Optionally tick "Generate lesson content" for full descriptions too.
- It creates structured lessons you can freely edit and rearrange.
Step 8: Review & submit
Preview everything, hop back to any step to fix things, then submit. If you're an approved educator it publishes immediately; if it's your very first program, it goes to a short review first.
Editing a program later
- Open your Educator Dashboard → Programs.
- Click Edit on the program.
- Change anything across any step.
- Click Update to save.
From your dashboard — My listings
What a listing is
One thing you offer — a program, course, 1-on-1, or experience. Each appears in the uBitto catalogue with its own public link your learners can share.
Edit vs. New
Edit opens a listing with your settings pre-filled; New listing starts fresh — you choose the type (1-on-1, group, scheduled, on-demand, experience) on step 1.
Review link
Click Review link on any listing to copy a link that drops learners right on its reviews block — perfect to send just after a great class.
Group action
Every program has a paired community group; Group opens the announcement drawer for it.
Creating Quizzes
Quizzes are, honestly, my favourite part of uBitto. They turn passive watching into active practice, they give learners the little dopamine hit of a score, and they hand you a clear picture of who's struggling with what. You build them from your Teacher Cabinet and share them in forums or embed them in courses.
Opening the quiz editor
- Open your Educator Dashboard.
- Go to Teacher Cabinet.
- Click Create Quiz.
The quiz types you can build
Each type trains a different muscle. Mix them so learners practise more than one skill:
Fill the blank with the correct grammar in a real sentence.
Pick the right answer — supports images, audio, and video.
Drag words into the correct Korean word order.
Listen to audio and type exactly what you hear.
Role-play a conversation with A/B sides.
Label vocabulary directly on an image.
Visual prompts that spark creative storytelling.
Read a script aloud and record it.
Dub a video scene in Korean.
Building a quiz, step by step
- Choose the quiz type from the dropdown.
- Give it a clear name (e.g. "Past Tense Actions", "Restaurant Vocabulary").
- Add your questions and answers — the fields adapt to the type you picked.
- Click Save.
- Optionally Share it to a forum topic or group.
Sharing what you built
- Share to Forum — embed the quiz in a group forum topic.
- Assign from Forum — use the Assign Quiz button in any forum reply.
- AI Teaching Assistant — let the AI suggest and post quizzes to a topic for you.
Editing and audio
Edit any quiz from the Teacher Cabinet, or hit Edit directly on an embedded quiz in a forum — changes save instantly and update everywhere the quiz appears. For audio-based types (Dictation, Dialogue, Speaking Script), uBitto generates Korean text-to-speech automatically when you save.
From your dashboard — My quizzes
What a quiz is
A short knowledge check you attach to a class summary or send on its own. Learners earn skill points based on how accurately they answer.
AI Quiz Maker
Opens the Teacher Cabinet drawer to generate questions from a topic, a vocab list, or your last class summary in seconds.
Address common mistakes
The "Address in next class →" suggestion gathers the questions many learners got wrong — a ready-made warm-up for your next session.
Auto-grading
Multiple-choice and fill-in-the-blank grade themselves; open-ended answers land in your to-dos for a personal look.
Schedule & Booking
If your program includes live sessions — 1-on-1 or group — students book time with you through the integrated booking system. Set it up once and it quietly handles availability, payments, and reminders so you can focus on teaching.
How booking works
- You set your available days and times when creating your program.
- Your availability shows as a heatmap on your program page.
- Students click Book Now to open the booking widget.
- They choose a service, date, and time, and pay.
- You both receive confirmation notifications.
Managing your availability
Your availability is synced from your program's schedule settings. To change it:
- Go to Edit Program → Schedule & Pricing.
- Update your conducting days and session times.
- Save — your heatmap updates automatically.
Booking notifications and trials
When a student books, you get an email confirmation with the details, the session appears in your booking calendar, and the student can see it from their own dashboard. You can also offer trial lessons at a reduced price to attract new students — enable it in Step 7 of program creation, and it shows as a separate option on your page.
From your dashboard — This week
Source of truth
The week view pulls live from your booking calendar — every class, 1-on-1, and experience with a confirmed booking shows up here.
Click into a class
Each tile opens a class drawer where you can switch the meeting type (Zoom / Google Meet / in-person), reschedule, or message everyone attending.
Advanced settings
To add services, block time off, or change durations, use Advanced settings → in the section header.
Calendar integrations
To sync with Google Calendar, Google Meet, or Zoom, open Advanced settings → your name → My Profile → Integrations.
Your First Booking
Your first booking is a small milestone — someone chose you. How you handle the next few hours sets the tone for the whole relationship. Here's what I'd do:
- Check your dashboard. Open the Schedule section to see the new booking and the learner's details.
- Confirm it. Review the date, time, and learner info and confirm — they're notified automatically.
- Say hello. Send a warm welcome message through uBitto, introduce yourself, and ask about their goals and current level.
- Check their level. On their profile, see if they've done the Challenge Your Knowledge quiz — it reveals their skill levels so you can prepare the right material.
- Prepare. Based on their level, get your materials ready. The AI Teaching Assistant can quickly generate quizzes and writing tasks tailored to them.
Rescheduling a session
Need to move a session? Message your learner through uBitto first to agree on a new time, then update it in your dashboard. Both of you get confirmation emails automatically.
Editing Service Rates
Your rates aren't set in stone — you can revisit them any time as your skill and reputation grow.
- Open your Educator Dashboard.
- Click the program you want to update.
- Go to Step 7: Schedule & Pricing in the editor.
- Update your rates — different rates for 1-on-1, group, or trial lessons.
- Click Save.
Changing Available Hours
Your availability is managed in your program's scheduling settings:
- Open your Educator Dashboard.
- Click Manage Schedule on the program.
- Set your available hours per day — they can differ day to day.
- Add buffer times between sessions so you're never rushed back-to-back.
- Double-check your timezone — students see your slots converted to their own local time.
- Click Save Changes.
From your dashboard — Availability & integrations
Where availability lives
Your weekly availability appears in the This week section as light dashed "Available" pills — open slots are bookable for 1-on-1s, while filled blocks are real bookings or recurring group-class sessions.
Connection status
The integrations area shows the services your bookings rely on — Google Calendar (sync), Google Meet / Zoom (video links), and your payout connection. Click a connectable card to manage it.
To change your hours
Click Advanced rules → (or Manage Booking at the top of the schedule) to set day-by-day hours, blackout dates, and buffer times.
Contacting Your Learner
Good communication is most of good teaching. You have three ways to reach your learners, each suited to a different moment:
For anything personal — feedback, encouragement, logistics. Open their profile and click Send Message, or find them in your inbox.
For lessons and questions everyone benefits from. Post in your group's forum where all enrolled students can join in.
For quick announcements. Post to the group activity feed and everyone sees it at a glance.
When a learner books, they appear automatically in your inbox. Their profile shows their level, quiz results, and skill progress so you can walk in already knowing where they are.
From your dashboard — My learners
Who you see
Every learner enrolled in any of your programs, sorted by most-recent activity (15 at a time — use Show next 15).
Columns
Level (from accumulated skill points), Streak (consecutive active days), Trend (last 30 days vs the prior 30 — ↑/↓/→), LTV (total paid on your programs), and Focus (their weakest skill right now).
Click a row
Expands an inline panel with their skills radar, recent corrections, and a 6-month points history — the perfect 30-second prep before a 1-on-1.
At-risk check-ins
The "Send check-in to N at-risk learners" button auto-messages everyone flagged At risk — a one-tap way to catch someone before they drift.
When a Learner Misses a Lesson
It happens to everyone eventually. Handle it calmly and you often turn a no-show into a loyal student:
- Wait at least half the session. They may just be running late.
- Send a message. Check in kindly — "everything okay?" goes a long way.
- Record the absence. If they never show, the session earnings are still yours.
- Consider a goodwill reschedule. Especially for a first-time no-show, offering to reschedule builds enormous trust.
Most learners will cancel or reschedule in advance when they know they can't make it. Cancellations more than 48 hours before a session are eligible for a full refund.
Payments & Payouts
Let's talk about getting paid, because that's why we can keep doing this work. Payments run on a clear monthly cycle so you always know what's coming and when:
| First 7 days of the month | You receive your Account Statement for the previous month |
| Next 7 days | Dispute period — contact us if anything looks incorrect |
| Next 7 days | Payment processed to your registered account |
What's included and how to track it
Your payout covers program subscriptions (completed orders for the month) and session bookings (sessions fulfilled during the month). Track everything in the Finance section of your dashboard — current balance, pending payouts, and your full transaction history.
From your dashboard — Your earnings
What's counted
Completed bookings on your programs, minus uBitto's commission (20% standard, or 10% for learners you referred).
The chart
Your last 6 months of net earnings — hover any month for the exact total.
Payouts
Paid monthly on the 15th for the previous month's completed bookings; Payout history holds full statements with downloadable receipts.
Setting up your payout account
Direct automated payouts are coming soon; for now payouts are processed manually through our secure payout system — contact members@ubitto.com to set up your bank details.
Awarding Points to Students
Recognition is fuel. When you award points, you're not just moving a number — you're telling a learner "I saw that effort." Points are tracked across the seven language skills:
- Listening — comprehension and audio understanding
- Expression — creative output and natural phrasing
- Vocabulary — word knowledge and usage
- Speaking — pronunciation and fluency
- Grammar — sentence structure and accuracy
- Reading — text comprehension
- Writing — written composition
How to award points
- Open your Educator Dashboard.
- Go to the Awards section.
- Choose the student and the skill.
- Enter the points and click Award.
Cookies & Gifting
Cookies are uBitto's little virtual currency. Students earn them and spend them on things like AI Writing Review — and you can gift them to celebrate effort and keep momentum going.
Gifting cookies
- Open your Educator Dashboard.
- Go to Gift Cookies.
- Choose the student and the number of cookies.
- Click Gift.
The student gets a notification and the cookies land in their balance instantly.
Building your Cookie Shop
You can create items your students redeem with cookies — a simple, powerful way to motivate learners and share your best resources. There are three kinds:
Vocabulary sheets, grammar guides, worksheets, and cheat sheets as PDF or image files.
Discounts on your programs, sessions, or upgrades to reward loyal students.
Special badges that appear on a student's profile — great for milestones.
Creating a shop item
- Open your Educator Dashboard.
- Go to the Cookie Shop section.
- Click Create Item.
- Pick the type (downloadable, coupon, or badge).
- Set a name, description, and cookie price.
- Upload the file or configure the coupon/badge.
- Click Save to publish it to the shop.
Community Groups
Every program can have its own private community group — a dedicated home where your enrolled students interact, share progress, and discuss lessons. This is where a course stops feeling like a video library and starts feeling like a class.
What's inside a group
Discussion threads for lessons, Q&A, and practice.
Recent activity from every member.
The list of enrolled students.
Shared photos, documents, and videos.
Managing your group
As the creator, you have full control. Open the Manage tab inside the group to adjust:
- Group Details — name, description, and cover photo.
- Privacy — Private (only enrolled students see content) or Public.
- Members — invite, remove, or promote members to moderators.
- Forum Settings — turn the discussion forum on or off.
- Default Landing Tab — which tab members see first (I recommend Discussions).
- Activity Feed — who can post to it.
- Media & Documents — enable or disable media, document, and video sharing.
- Messaging — who can send group messages.
From your dashboard — Groups & assignments
What a group is
Every program has a paired group; enrolled learners are added automatically and you're the group admin.
Class summary first
Post a Class summary after each session — it pulls last week's "Next:" bullets forward as this week's "Learnt:", then chains straight into a new assignment.
Assignments
Target the activity feed (lightweight) or the discussion forum (threaded), and pick the submission format(s) — writing, audio, video — as a hint to learners.
Announce
Pinned announcements sit at the top of the group's feed; tick "Also send as direct message" for anything urgent.
Using Forums
Forums are the heartbeat of your community. This is where you post lessons, students ask questions, and real interactive learning happens between live sessions.
Creating a topic
- Open your group's Forum tab.
- Click New Discussion.
- Add a title and your lesson content.
- Click Submit.
Replying and structuring lessons
Click Reply on any topic to answer questions — replies thread neatly under the original post. For the best experience, treat each topic like a mini-lesson: open with a short explanation or vocabulary list, include a "Learnt:" section of the key words or grammar, add a practice quiz (see the next section), and close with a discussion prompt or homework.
Sharing Quizzes in Forums
One of my favourite touches: you can embed interactive quizzes right inside forum posts, so students practise without ever leaving the discussion.
Assigning a quiz
- Open the forum topic where you want the quiz.
- Click Assign Quiz in the reply toolbar.
- Search for a quiz by name or type.
- Select it — it embeds directly in your reply.
You can embed any of the nine quiz types — Grammar Context, Multiple Choice, Build Sentence, Dictation, Dialogue, Image Words, Story Cube, Speaking Script, and Scene Dubbing (see Creating Quizzes for what each one trains).
How students see results
When a student finishes a quiz in your forum, their result posts automatically as a reply in the thread — you see their score and the points they earned, and so does the rest of the group. That gentle visibility is a quiet motivator all on its own.
AI Writing Review
Writing feedback is the most time-consuming thing a language teacher does — and the most valuable. AI Writing Review uses Claude AI to give your students instant, careful Korean writing corrections right inside the forum, so they never wait days for feedback.
How it works
- A student writes Korean text in a forum reply.
- You (or they) click the AI Review button on that reply.
- The AI posts a correction reply showing each error in [wrong → right] form.
- The student earns Writing skill points, and 3 cookies are deducted from their balance.
It catches spelling, grammar (particles, verb endings, conjugation), spacing, and unnatural expressions — the everyday mistakes that add up.
AI Teaching Assistant
The AI Teaching Assistant is like having a prep helper who's read your whole lesson. It lives as a sidebar panel on forum topic pages and turns your lesson content into ready-to-post quizzes.
Opening it
- Open a forum topic where you've posted a lesson.
- Click the Teaching Assistant button in the sidebar.
- The panel slides in from the right.
What it can do
- Lesson Analysis — reads your lesson (especially the "Learnt:" section) and pulls out the key vocabulary and grammar.
- Quiz Suggestions — recommends existing quizzes from your library that fit the lesson.
- Generate New Quiz — if nothing fits, it creates a fresh quiz from the lesson vocabulary; you choose the type and add instructions.
- Multi-Difficulty Generation — makes Easy, Medium, and Hard versions of the same quiz for differentiated practice.
- Post to Topic — publishes the quiz to the current topic in one click.
Activity Feed
The activity feed is the pulse of your community — a live timeline of quiz completions, forum posts, new members, and awards. A quick glance tells you whether your community is buzzing or needs a nudge.
Where to find it
- Global Activity — click Activity in the bottom navigation to see everything across the platform.
- Group Activity — inside a group, click the Activity tab for that group's feed only.
You'll see quiz results students post, new topics and replies, members joining, and points or cookie awards — all in one scrollable stream.
Notifications
You don't need to keep the platform open all day. In-app notifications tap you on the shoulder when something needs you — so you can teach in focused bursts and still stay responsive. You'll be alerted when:
- A student replies to your forum topic.
- A student mentions you in a post.
- A new member joins your group.
- A student completes a quiz in your forum.
- A program is assigned to you (for cloned courses).
Expert Profile
Not ready to run a full teaching program? That's completely fine. The Expert Profile is for skilled Korean-language professionals who want to stay connected to uBitto for occasional, well-paid opportunities — without the commitment of being an active educator.
What it is
Think of it as your place in uBitto's talent network. Filling it in tells us you're available for work like this:
Korean–English for corporate events, expos, business meetings, and conferences.
Translation, content review, cultural consulting, or curriculum development.
Volunteering for uBitto events, workshops, and cultural exchanges.
One-off lessons, workshops, or masterclasses — no full program required.
Contributing quiz content, blog posts, or educational materials.
Who it's for
- Professionals too busy for full-time teaching who still want occasional work.
- Certified interpreters looking for event-based gigs.
- Native speakers with expertise in a specific field (business, entertainment, culture).
- Current educators open to projects beyond their programs.
Setting it up
- Open your Educator Dashboard.
- Go to the Expert Profile section.
- Fill in your skills, experience, availability, and preferred project types.
- Upload any relevant credentials or certificates.
- Click Save.
Best Practices
After watching thousands of classes, here's what consistently separates thriving programs from quiet ones. None of it is complicated — it's just done consistently.
Post 2–3 forum topics a week. Steady presence is what keeps students coming back.
Blend text lessons, quizzes, discussion prompts, culture, and media so it never gets stale.
Reply to questions within 24 hours. Speed reads as care.
Let AI Review and the Teaching Assistant scale you — as a supplement to your feedback, not a replacement.
Award points and gift cookies generously — recognition keeps learners going.
Getting Learner Reviews
Reviews are one of the most powerful ways to attract new learners — but here's what most educators miss: the best time to ask is while learners are still actively learning with you, not after the course ends.
Why reviews matter
- Build trust — new learners enrol far more readily when they see real feedback.
- Improve visibility — programs with reviews rank higher and appear more prominently.
- Increase bookings — a program with 5+ reviews converts far better than one with none.
- Strengthen your profile — reviews become part of your teaching track record.
When to ask
The sweet spot is after 3–5 sessions — enough for a genuine opinion, while they're still engaged. Don't wait for the final lesson.
How to ask
A simple, friendly message does it. Here's a template you can copy and make your own:
Suggested message template
Hi [name]! 😊
I hope you're enjoying the lessons so far! If you have a moment, I'd really appreciate it if you could leave a short review on the programme page. It helps other learners find the class and means a lot to me as an educator.
Here's the direct link:
[paste your review link here]
Thank you so much, and see you in the next session! 🙏
Your review link
Each program has a direct link to its reviews section. The format is:
For example:
Find your program's URL by opening its page and adding #reviews to the end. Or just use the Review link button on the listing to copy it for you.
From your dashboard — Recent reviews
Where reviews come from
Learners leave a star rating (1–5) and an optional comment on a program's public page, tied to that listing.
What you see
The 8 most recent reviews across all your listings — click a listing name to jump to its reviews block.
Replying
Click Reply to post a public response nested under the review. Future learners read these too, so be warm and specific.
Asking for reviews
Use the Review link button on any listing to copy a link that lands learners on the review form.
Package Booking Discounts
Want steadier income and more committed students? Package Booking Discounts let learners book several sessions at once for a discount, instead of deciding one session at a time. It's one of the simplest ways to turn a casual learner into a regular.
Why offer packages
- Learners stay consistent — a committed package means they keep showing up, which means better results.
- More repeat bookings — a 4-session package is 4 guaranteed sessions, not 4 separate decisions to rebook.
- Stronger relationships — long-term learners trust you more, refer others, and leave better reviews.
- Stable income — your schedule fills in advance, so you can plan with confidence.
An example structure
You set your own discounts. Here's a structure that works well:
| Package | Discount | Example (if session = RM 200) |
|---|---|---|
| 4-session package | 4% off | RM 192/session → RM 768 total |
| 8-session package | 9% off | RM 182/session → RM 1,456 total |
| 12-session package | 14% off | RM 172/session → RM 2,064 total |
| 24-session package | 18% off | RM 164/session → RM 3,936 total |
How to enable it
Package booking is built into the program creation flow:
- Go to Create Program (or edit an existing 1-on-1 program).
- Open the last step — Schedule & Pricing.
- Find the checkbox "Do you wish to create a package?"
- Tick it and set your package sizes and discount percentages.
- Save — learners now see the package options on your page.
Referral Program — Earn 90% on Students You Bring
Here's a deal I'm genuinely proud of. When you bring your own students to uBitto, you earn a higher share — 90% instead of the standard 80% — on every booking they make with you, for as long as they keep learning. The 10% bonus is permanent and applies automatically; you never have to claim it.
How tracking works
- Every educator gets a unique referral link with your ID, e.g.
https://ubitto.com/?ref=YOUR_ID - When someone clicks it, we save a 30-day cookie on their device.
- If they sign up within those 30 days, they're permanently tagged as your referral.
- Every future booking they make with you is calculated at 90% — automatically, on every payout.
- Attribution is set-once: the first educator's link they click is the one that sticks.
Three ways to share your link
| Source | How to share | Badge in your dashboard |
|---|---|---|
| 🔗 Direct link | Copy your link from My Earning → My Referral, then paste anywhere — social bios, email, your own site. | Direct link |
| 🧠 Quiz share | Hit the share button on a quiz post in your activity feed. Your referral tag is added automatically. | via Quiz share |
| 📚 Program share | Hit the share button on any of your programs in the dashboard. Auto-tagged. | via Program share |
Where to find it
Go to Educator Dashboard → My Earning → My Referral. You'll see:
- Your unique referral link with one-click copy.
- Every student you've referred — avatar, name, email, signup date.
- The source badge for each referral (Direct / Quiz / Program).
- A Chat button on each student to start a private conversation.
How to maximise it
- Add your direct link to social bios — Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube About — wherever people find you.
- Share quiz posts to your followers — they're high-engagement and pre-tagged with your referral.
- Promote your programs to your own audience — those bookings stay at 90% for life.
- Mention your link in welcome messages — to past contacts and students who haven't signed up yet.
From your dashboard — Referral program
- Share your link. Every educator has a unique referral link (shown above the button). A learner only needs to land on uBitto via your link once — we tag their account on signup and the credit sticks.
- They sign up & book. When a referred learner books any program — yours or another educator's — they're permanently attributed to you.
- You earn extra commission. uBitto's standard cut is 20%; for learners you referred it drops to 10%, so you keep an extra 10% of every booking they make, for life. (A $100 booking → you keep $90 instead of $80.)
- Track conversions. Signed up = total via your link; Converted = referred learners who started a program; Earned / Pending = commissions, paid monthly.
- Getting paid. Referral commission rolls into your normal monthly payout — no separate withdrawal.
Share Your Space
Have a venue — a café, studio, classroom, or meeting room? You can host uBitto sessions there and earn from it. You provide the room; we bring the learners and educators.
The full walkthrough — what kind of space works, how you earn, how bookings are handled, and how to get started — lives in the dedicated Space Share guide.

HRDC — Claims & Becoming a Certified Trainer
Two questions come up a lot around HRDC — one from teachers who want to run corporate training, and one about how companies actually claim it. Here's both.
How do I register as an HRDC-certified trainer?
To deliver HRDC-claimable corporate training through uBitto, you need a valid HRD Corp Train-the-Trainer (TTT) certificate.
- Apply for the TTT programme via HRD Corp (hrdcorp.gov.my) and complete the certification.
- Once certified, send us your TTT certificate and we'll add it to your educator profile.
- We can then assign you to corporate training groups, where the company claims the training cost from their HRDC levy.
How do companies claim HRDC for my classes?
uBitto is an HRD Corp-registered training provider, so the client company applies for the grant (via e-TRiS) before training starts and submits the claim afterward. uBitto prepares the paperwork — course outline, trainer profile, attendance — and you simply deliver the sessions and mark attendance every time.
Space Share Guide: Host Classes, Earn From Your Space
Partner your café, studio, or co-working space with uBitto to host Korean language classes and cultural experiences — regular bookings and extra income, with no change to how you operate.
Overview
Let me explain this in one sentence, because it really is that simple: you already have a space that works — Space Share helps it earn more. You run a café, a studio, a co-working floor, a bookshop. It has a soul, a crowd, and a few hours in the week when it sits quieter than you'd like. uBitto fills those quieter hours with Korean language classes and cultural experiences — paying visitors who arrive already booked — and pays you a fixed fee for the use of your room.
I built this side of uBitto for owners who kept telling me the same thing: "I love the idea of hosting classes, but I don't have the time to find students, chase payments, or manage a teacher." So we took all of that off your plate. Here's what the partnership gives you:
You keep running your business exactly as you do today. Nothing about your operation changes.
Students, educators, payments and scheduling are all handled by uBitto — not by you or your staff.
A fixed venue fee for every session, plus the food, drinks and repeat visits new faces bring.
The Premise
Here is the whole idea, stripped to its core, so you never have to wonder what you're signing up for:
Think of it like a well-run pop-up that lands in your quiet slot, brings its own crowd, cleans up after itself, and leaves you with a fee and a room full of people who now know your business exists. You are the host, not the operator. That distinction is the heart of Space Share.
Who This Is For
This isn't for bare, dedicated event halls — it's for places that already have a purpose, a regular crowd, and a bit of character. If you have a corner, a room, or a few underused hours during quieter periods, you're exactly who we're looking for. Find yourself in the list below:
The right fit
Host weekend workshops or weekday-evening classes in your dining area. Students spend on drinks, food, and return visits.
Fill meeting rooms and open desks during off-peak hours with weekly classes — steady, predictable income.
Your atmosphere is exactly what students want to learn in; cultural workshops and language classes fit naturally.
Language learning feels at home in a bookshop, and you already attract exactly the right crowd.
Korean restaurants and fusion concepts are a natural fit for kimchi-making and cooking workshops.
Multi-purpose halls and neighbourhood hubs, adding regular programming and revenue.
Classrooms sitting idle outside your own timetable, filled with no conflict to your existing classes.
Offices with rooms empty on evenings or weekends — a clean, professional setting for classes.
What Changes — and What Doesn't
The question every owner asks first is, "What will I have to change about how I run my place?" The honest answer is: almost nothing. This partnership slots into your existing operation — it doesn't rearrange it. Here's the clear before-and-after.
Stays exactly the same
- Your regular opening hours and operations
- Your own customers and regulars — unaffected
- Your staff doing their normal jobs
- Your branding, identity, and atmosphere
- How you run your business day to day
- You managing your own bookings for your own events
What's added — all handled by us
- A fixed session on your calendar (you agree the slot upfront)
- 8–15 students showing up — already booked and paid
- A qualified educator who runs the session
- Your venue fee — paid automatically after each session
- New faces who may become regulars
- uBitto marketing that features your space to our community
What Your Space Earns
Let's talk money plainly, because it's the reason you're here. Every venue partner receives a fixed space fee per session — paid automatically after each completed class or workshop. We set that fee together with you before anything begins. No surprises, no deductions, no chasing invoices.
How the fee works
Size, seating capacity, equipment, and program type all inform what's fair. We discuss it with you directly — no fixed template.
Confirmed before the first session and consistent. It doesn't fluctuate with student numbers or session length.
No invoicing or follow-up. Once a session is marked complete, your fee is transferred directly to you.
The upside beyond the fee
The venue fee is the guaranteed part. But most partners tell me the bigger win shows up quietly, over the following weeks:
- F&B & footfall — weekly students become regulars. They order drinks, bring friends, and come back outside class hours. This sits on top of your venue fee and compounds over time.
- Free marketing — every session is promoted to our community, social channels, and email list. Your space gets exposure to new customers at zero cost to you.
Everything uBitto Handles
This is the part I'm proudest of, because it's the part that makes hosting effortless. We run the entire program — you simply host it. Here is exactly what we take off your plate:
We find, attract, and sign up students through our platform, social media, and community.
Students book directly on uBitto; you receive a confirmed session count ahead of time.
All student payments are collected upfront; your venue fee is transferred automatically.
We assign a qualified, verified educator to every session; they arrive prepared and run the class fully.
We track attendance, send reminders, and manage the paperwork digitally.
uBitto issues completion certificates to students under our brand.
What this looks like in real numbers
To make it concrete, here are a few illustrative pictures of partners putting quiet hours to work:
- Café owner — a quiet Saturday morning slot now runs a kimchi workshop; ~10 students, all ordering drinks. Extra RM1,100+ per Saturday session.
- Co-working manager — empty Tuesday/Thursday evening meeting rooms used for classes. ~RM1,200/month from unused rooms.
- Art studio owner — weekend cultural workshops in the open space between classes. 2 workshops/month = ~RM1,600 extra.
- Language centre owner — idle weekday-morning classrooms filled with no conflict to your own programme. ~RM1,200–1,800/month.
Illustrative examples based on actual uBitto pricing structures.
Space Requirements
Before you worry about whether your space "qualifies," let me reassure you: we're not asking you to renovate or buy anything new. If you already have most of the essentials below, you're ready to go — and if you're missing one or two, we sort it out together.
Must have
- Seating for 8–15 people — tables and chairs arranged so students can face the educator. Café, meeting-room, and classroom layouts all work.
- Adequate lighting — natural or standard overhead lighting is enough for reading and writing.
- Reasonably quiet environment — a semi-private corner, back room, or quieter period (evenings, weekends) so students can hear clearly.
- Whiteboard or flip chart — essential for language classes, where educators write characters, vocabulary, and grammar live.
- WiFi access — sharing your existing guest WiFi password is all that's needed.
Nice to have
- TV screen or projector — lets educators display slides and videos; upgrades the experience but isn't required.
- Basic kitchen or prep area — only for cultural workshops (kimchi-making, Korean cooking); cafés and restaurants usually have this already.
- Power points near seating — to plug in a laptop or display without cables running across the room.
What each program type needs
Different sessions have different needs. Use this quick reference to see what your space is already set up to host:

How to Get Started
From first conversation to first session is usually about a week. There's no paperwork marathon and no setup fee — here's exactly what happens, and who does what at each step.
- One conversation — 20 minutes. We learn about your space, your quieter slots, and what sessions fit best, and we agree your venue fee together. You: 20 minutes, once.
- We schedule and promote the first session. uBitto locks in a date and promotes it to our student community; registrations and payments are collected on our end. uBitto handles everything.
- Students arrive. Session runs. You earn. The educator manages the class; your team operates as normal; your fee transfers automatically once the session is complete. Fully automated payout.
- It repeats — on your schedule. You tell us the slots you're comfortable with and we fill them. Add more as your confidence grows, or keep it to one slot a week. You set the pace.
See who's already on board: browse the Space Directory to get a feel for the range of venues and how they list.
Get Started

Experience Maker Guide: Share Your Culture, Get Paid
Turn your cultural knowledge into engaging experiences — virtual tours, cooking classes, workshops and more — and earn while you share what you love.
What is an Experience Maker?
Let me start with why we built this. Some of the most meaningful moments on uBitto don't happen in a language lesson at all — they happen when someone cooks their grandmother's recipe on a video call, walks you through their neighbourhood market, or sits you down to fold your first piece of hanji paper. That's culture, taught by the person who lives it. An Experience Maker is exactly that person: a cultural ambassador who shares real, hands-on knowledge through a live, interactive session — online or in person.
The important distinction to understand up front: a course is an ongoing journey (many lessons, the same learners week after week), while an experience is a session people book by the seat. It can be a one-off or something you run again and again — but each time, people pay for a place at that specific session. Think of a course as a class you enrol in, and an experience as an event you get a ticket to.
Types of experiences you can host
Experiences come in a few natural shapes. Pick the one that fits what you love to do and where you want to host it — you can always add more later. Here are the four we see most often:
Guide people through historical sites, neighbourhoods, and landmarks live from your phone or camera — no travel needed on their side.
Teach an authentic recipe and technique while sharing the food culture and family stories behind it.
Traditional arts, music, calligraphy, crafts, festivals, tea ceremony — anything hands-on people can try along with you.
Farm stays, temple stays, and hands-on craft sessions hosted at a real venue people come to visit.
Real examples already live on uBitto: Korean Farm Stay, Making Tteokguk, Hangeul Calligraphy, Traditional Craft Workshop, Temple Stay, Festival Experience.
Getting started — three simple steps
Getting your first experience live is genuinely quick. Here's the whole journey from idea to your first paid booking:
- Create your experience. Sign up and design your session — choose the format, the topic, and who it's for. Give it a clear, inviting name (for example "Korean Temple Virtual Tour" or "Tapas Cooking Class") so a browsing learner instantly understands what they'll get.
- Set your schedule & price. Choose the dates and times you're available and set your per-person price. You are in full control of your calendar — open only the slots you actually want to host.
- Host & get paid. Learners find your experience, book a seat, and pay up front. You show up, host a wonderful session, and your share is paid out automatically after each event.
Ready to apply? Start from the Become an Experience Maker page, then create your first listing from the Pro dashboard.
Creating an experience listing
Your listing is your shop window — it's what a curious learner sees before they decide to book. From the Pro dashboard, add a new listing and pick the experience type. Then fill in each of these fields thoughtfully:
- Title & description — say exactly what people will do and what they'll take away. Be specific and inviting; paint the picture of the session.
- Format — online (virtual) or in-person. This changes what else you'll need (a meeting link, or a venue).
- Per-person price — experiences are priced per seat, so you're setting the price one guest pays to attend.
- Capacity — the minimum and maximum number of seats per session. The minimum protects you from hosting for just one person if you'd rather not; the maximum keeps the group small enough to feel personal.
- Duration & what's included — how long the session runs, plus any materials, ingredients, or take-home items you provide.
Where & how to host
How you host depends entirely on your format. Here's what each one needs:
🖥️ Online experiences
Add your meeting link (Zoom / Google Meet) to the listing and you're set — no venue required, and because there's no venue cost, you keep the largest share of every booking.
🏡 In-person experiences
Host at your own space, or use a partner venue. If you need a space, the Space Share guide shows you how — partner venues charge a fixed venue fee, agreed upfront, that comes out of the session revenue.
Materials & safety
A little preparation here is what separates a smooth session from a stressful one:
- List any materials or ingredients participants need to bring themselves, and clearly say which ones you provide.
- For cooking or craft sessions, note allergens, sharp tools, heat, and any safety guidance right in the description — so guests arrive ready and safe.
Pricing & payouts
Let's be completely transparent about money, because you deserve to know exactly what you'll earn. You set your own per-person price, and the standard split for a self-hosted experience is simple:
💰 You earn 85%
Of every booking, for experiences you host yourself. The lion's share stays with you.
🏷️ uBitto's fee is 15%
Covers payments, the platform, discovery, and support — no hidden extras.
Payments are collected upfront when learners book, so you're never chasing anyone for money. Your share is paid out within 48 hours of each completed session by secure bank transfer — no hidden fees.
Getting reviews
Reviews are the quiet engine behind steady bookings. A newcomer deciding whether to spend an evening with you trusts the words of past guests far more than anything you say about yourself — so a handful of warm, honest reviews will do more for your calendar than almost anything else.
Participants can rate and review each experience on its public page. You can reply to every review (a gracious reply to a happy guest is itself great marketing) and share a review link to gently nudge delighted guests into leaving one.
Tips for a great experience
After watching hundreds of sessions, here's what consistently separates the experiences guests rave about from the ones they forget:
- Lead with a clear promise. What will people make, see, or feel? Put that front and centre.
- Right-size the group. Keep numbers small enough for real interaction; for hands-on sessions, smaller is almost always better.
- Invest in your photos and title. A specific title and a few genuine, well-lit photos do more to drive bookings than a long description.
- Prepare guests in advance. Send a simple materials list before the session so everyone arrives ready.
- End on a high. Finish with a photo moment or a take-home — it earns reviews and brings people back for your next one.
Interpreters & Business Translation
uBitto runs a fully managed interpretation service — curated, vetted interpreters for Korean, English, Malay & Chinese, with a coordinator behind every booking. This guide has two sides: one for interpreters who want to work with us, and one for businesses that want to book us.
Overview
Let me tell you what we actually do here, because it's often misunderstood. uBitto is not a directory where you scroll through freelancers and hope for the best. We are a managed service: we recruit and vet the interpreters ourselves, we match the right person to your event, and we stay involved from the first enquiry to the moment the last session wraps. When something goes wrong on the day — and at live events, something always tries to — there is a coordinator whose job is to make it invisible to you.
That approach has made us the #1 largest Korean–English interpreter network in Malaysia, with 200+ vetted interpreters and a 9.8/10 client satisfaction score across 50+ events.
Korean ↔ English · English ↔ Malay · Korean ↔ Chinese — the pairs Korea–Malaysia business actually needs.
Malaysia-based interpreters for Penang, KL and Johor — and nationwide on request.
On-site, remote/online, or a hybrid of both for multi-venue events.
For interpreters — join the network
If you interpret between Korean, English, Malay, or Chinese, I'd genuinely love to have you on the roster. Most of our interpreters come from uBitto's own Learning Partner community — people who already teach or work in language professionally — but you don't have to be a teacher to join. What matters is that you're good, reliable, and ready to represent uBitto in front of a client.
Joining is a real application, not an instant sign-up. Here's exactly how it works:
- Submit your Expert Profile. This is your application to join. Create your Expert Profile → Tell us your language pairs, your specialisations (medical, technical, legal, business, and so on), and your experience. Be specific — "5 years of technical interpretation for manufacturing" tells us far more than "experienced interpreter."
- Get vetted. We review your profile and, where relevant, your language pairs in practice. This step protects everyone: it's why clients trust us, and it's why an assignment with your name on it is worth accepting.
- Go on the roster. Once you're approved, you become eligible to be matched to events that fit your profile. You're not obligated to accept everything — you take the assignments that suit your schedule and expertise.
For interpreters — how you work
Here's the promise I make to every interpreter who joins: your job is to interpret brilliantly. Everything around that — the chasing, the scheduling, the "where do I park," the last-minute change of plans — is our job. We built the managed model precisely so you never have to be your own agent, coordinator, and crisis manager all at once.
You're offered assignments that fit your language pair, industry, and availability — not a firehose of everything.
Scheduling, briefing materials, and travel coordination are prepared for you before the day.
A dedicated coordinator is on hand for real-time support and quality monitoring.
A backup interpreter is on standby for every assignment, so the team is never left exposed.
For interpreters — getting paid
You're paid per completed assignment. Rates depend on the language pair, the format (on-site or remote), the duration, and the specialisation — and we confirm the rate with you before you accept a job, never after. No surprises, no haggling on the day.
To get started, submit your Expert Profile. Once you're on the roster, the rate is shared with each assignment offer, so you can decide with full information every time.
For clients — why managed, not freelancers
I'll be honest about the trade-off you're weighing, because you're right to weigh it. Booking a freelancer directly can look cheaper on paper. But an interpreter isn't a commodity you're buying — they're a person your entire event depends on for a few critical hours. When you book direct, you're also silently taking on every risk that a managed service would have absorbed for you.
Booking freelancers direct
- No backup if they cancel or fall ill
- No one monitoring quality on the day
- No coordination when plans change mid-event
- You carry the liability yourself
uBitto managed service
- Vetted & matched to your industry and pair
- A coordinator watching the room, not just filling a seat
- Scheduling, briefing and logistics handled for you
- A substitute on standby for every assignment
And when your event grows, the model grows with it:
Professional interpreters matched to your industry and language pair — not whoever was free.
Scheduling, briefing, and logistics handled end to end.
A substitute is ready for every assignment, so a cancellation never becomes your crisis.
From 1 interpreter to 100+ for large, multi-day events.
For clients — core services
Whatever the shape of your event, there's a format that fits. Not sure which one you need? Tell us the situation and we'll recommend one — that's part of what the scoping conversation is for.
Interpreters dispatched to your event, meeting, or conference. Available nationwide, with short-notice deployment when the calendar moves.
Virtual interpreters for Zoom, Teams, and video calls — no special setup, no travel, ideal for cross-border meetings.
A mix of on-site and remote for multi-venue or international events where part of the room is in person and part is dialling in.
For clients — how it works
From your first message to the close of your event, here's the path — and where we take the weight off you at each step:
- Share your needs. Tell us your event, languages, dates, and format. We scope it within 24 hours, so you're not left waiting to plan the rest of your programme.
- We match interpreters. We select interpreters from the curated network based on your industry, language pair, and event type — the right specialist, not just an available body.
- Managed scheduling. We handle briefing, scheduling, travel coordination, and — importantly — backup arrangements, so the plan is resilient before anyone arrives.
- Smooth event delivery. A dedicated coordinator provides on-the-day management, real-time support, and quality monitoring. If something shifts, we adapt so you don't have to.
For clients — track record
Numbers matter, but what they really represent is trust earned event by event: 200+ interpreters supplied · 50+ events supported · 9.8/10 client satisfaction. A few examples of the range we cover:
60+ interpreters coordinated across multiple days, connecting Korean exhibitors with buyers from 15+ countries.
Interpreters for universities, institutions, and government bodies across multiple languages.
Interpreters embedded with production crews, bridging Korean artists, directors, and overseas technical staff in real time.
Specialist interpreters for technical negotiations and factory tours between Korean chipmakers and global partners.
For clients — request a quote
Ready to talk specifics? The fastest way to get a real answer is to tell us about your event — and we'll scope it within 24 hours.
Fill in the interpretation enquiry form → with your languages, dates, location, and format, and our team will prepare a quote tailored to what you actually need.
